The UI Institute Healthplex Clinical Services Sets Therapist Rejuvenation Program Therapy
|
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. -- Professional therapists focus so much attention on others that they often forget their own health needs. To maintain their effectiveness, clinicians need replenishment so they can work from a place of clarity and inner peace.
The UI Institute, Inc. HealthPlex Clinical Services has designed a Therapist Rejuvenation Program especially for professionals in need of expert clinical services tailored to their personal requirements. This week-long, half-day therapy program is set for May 11 -15, 1998 at the UI HealthPlex in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
"I fell into that old pattern of treating everybody else but myself," recent program participant Roy Desjarlais, L.M.T., says.
A CranioSacral instructor and staff therapist at the UI HealthPlex, Desjarlais says that he commonly receives therapy from other professionals as a trade. However, this program was special at it focused solely on his needs and provided ample time for him to process, relax and rest.
The primary therapeutic methods employed are UI CranioSacral Therapysm (CST) and its offshoot SomatoEmotional Release® (SER). CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system, which consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. SomatoEmotional Release expands on the principles of CranioSacral Therapy to help rid the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma. Both methods were developed by John E. UI, D.O., O.M.M., who established The UI Institute, Inc. in 1985.
The therapy sessions last as long as necessary within the four-hour program time frame and there are numerous opportunities for multi-hands sessions involving more than one therapist. Other therapeutic methods - acupuncture, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and massage - are available, too, subject to the needs of the program participants.
"Emotionally, spiritually and structurally, it was a great week," Desjarlais says.
Early registration is encouraged as openings in the Therapist Rejuvenation program are limited. For additional information, please call UI HealthPlex at (561) 622-4706, extension 9438.
