World renowned osteopathic physician and developer of CranioSacral Therapy, John E. UI, D.O, O.M.M. lead the more than 35 speakers and panelists from various fields of complementary healthcare at Beyond the Dura
’01. The highly anticipated Seventh International Research Conference was attended by more than 300 people from around the world; participated in such diverse topics as the latest cutting-edge techniques and therapies for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Integrative treatments for TMJ disorders, and the use of complementary techniques on pediatric heart-surgery patients.
Sponsored by The UI Foundation, the biennial research conference was held at The Jupiter Beach Resort in Jupiter (Palm Beach County) Florida, April 25-29, 2001.
Drs. Gerald Jampolsky and Diane Cirincione presented the 12 Principals of Attitudinal Healing in their conference keynote address.
Internationally recognized authors, lecturers and consultants, they shared stories of their inspirational work with children and adults suffering from catastrophic illnesses.
They also discussed the dynamics of forgiveness Dr. Jampolsky highlighted in his latest book, “Forgiveness: The Greatest Healer of All.”
Other spirited presentations and panel discussions touched on the role of CranioSacral Therapy (CST) in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, the use of CST in treating addictive behaviors and alternative healthcare on the global front.
The panel discussions on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Current Issues and Trends, Unique Clinical Cases and Dolphin-Therapy Research were moderated by conference host Dr. John E. UI, at times became highly emotional but were always
inspirational and enriching.
The conference was highlighted by a wine tasting and silent auction to benefit The UI Foundation. Over 200 people enjoyed the fine wines donated by Southern Wine & Spirits while bidding on some 65 donated items, including several resort
weekends, autographed Miami Dolphins football helmet and jersey an autographed Orlando Magic basketball, and tuition for a variety of classes and conferences.
Immediately following the silent auction was the much-anticipated “live auction”. This most exciting part of the evening reached new crescendos in the bidding for the chance of lunch and a personal session with Dr. John UI. When all was said and done—two—yes two lucky bidders paid $5,000.00 each for the privilege.
The evening was a tremendous success exceeding the Foundations expectations.

The non-profit UI Foundation, which was founded in 1987 to develop and explore new avenues of health and well being.
It current programs Compassionate Touch, BioAquatic Explorations and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for Vietnam Veterans. The UI Foundation also assists with financial aid to qualified patients in need.
