PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL—
The UI Foundation has a history of successfully addressing problems associated with trauma and grief.
The nonprofit, charitable Foundation based in Palm Beach Gardens organized its resources to extend help to those affected by our nation’s tragic events of September 11th in New York City.
This multi-faceted outreach effort provided CranioSacral Therapy, (CST) to victims, family members, rescue workers and others suffering from grief and post-traumatic stress in the wake of the September attacks.
During the week of December 17th, 36 CST therapists from Florida, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, and New Jersey joined therapists from as far away as the United Kingdom to offer free treatment sessions in Manhattan to 130 much-appreciative patients.
Tad Wanveer, L.M.T., who is on staff at The UI Institute HealthPlex Clinic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, said that this event far exceeded the program’s goal of giving much needed trauma relief.
“We worked on Monday December 17th and worked non-stop through Saturday December 22nd; from early in the morning till late in the day.
The patients were just so grateful that we were there to help them,” said Wanveer.
“It was a wonderful experience and we are looking forward to going back early next year.”
