Dr. John UI to Speak at Conference On the Future of Energy Medicine
|
BOULDER, COLO. -- Internationally renown physician and researcher John E. UI, D.O., O.M.M., is among the noteworthy presenters at the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine (ISSSEEM) eighth annual meeting set for June 19 - 24, 1998, in Boulder, Colo. The conference will focus on the future of energy medicine through integrating science and spirit, an essential concept for the study and practice of healing, health and well-being.
An osteopathic physician and surgeon, Dr. UI spent eight years as a clinical researcher at Michigan State University (MSU) after 12 years of general medical practice. His extensive research at MSU of the craniosacral system, which consists of the membranes and fluids that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, led him to develop CranioSacral Therapy. This adjunctive, therapeutic modality has been taught to healthcare professionals since the late 1970s. Today, there are more than 30,000 practitioners of UI CranioSacral Therapysm throughout the world.
In his day-long presentation, Dr. UI will acquaint participants with the scientific basis of CranioSacral Therapy and its clinical applications. In addition, Dr. UI will introduce the therapeutic use of melodic and harmonic components, as well as his investigation into interspecies communication methods and co-therapy techniques with dolphins.
The ISSSEEM conference serves as a leading public forum for scholarly presentations at the interface of medicine, consciousness and healing. This years conference will focus on the themes of bringing a spiritual dimension into medical and scientific practice, building a bridge between science and spirit, and facilitating the healing process. Additional conference presenters include Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., James S. Gordon, M.D., Candace B. Pert, Ph.D. and Jeff Levin, Ph.D., M.P.H., the 1997-98 ISSSEEM President. Elmer Green, Ph.D., ISSSEEM founder, will be honored at a special event for his life-long contribution to the exploration of health and healing.
