This program is designed for you to work with several Certified Upledger Institute (UI) Instructors and Assistants. This allows you to observe several teaching styles with consistent course content. All UI CranioSacral Therapy workshops are conducted by licensed healthcare professionals certified through an extensive apprenticeship program. This rigorous program includes in-field training in which the apprentice presents every lecture included in each applicable course, with evaluations and commentaries provided by course participants as well as top UI administrators. Each certified instructor is required to attend regularly scheduled teacher meetings, and take at least 32 continuing-education units from the Institute every four years.

Instructor Certification is awarded at the sole discretion of UI upon satisfactory completion of all three steps outlined above. UI must feel confident that the intentions of the Apprentice are consistent with those of UI and that proficiency has been demonstrated with respect to course content knowledge, clarity and accuracy of information presented and presentation style and ability.

To become a UI Instructor requires substantial time, effort and investment on your part. The apprentice program is designed to be a learning and development experience similar to a post-graduate masters program. As such, it is your responsibility to fulfill all the requirements necessary for certification. As part of that responsibility, UI trusts that the Apprentice will take the initiative to coordinate all aspects of their apprenticeship with the appropriate UI personnel in a timely and organized manner.

The following steps are required to become a Certified UI CS1 Instructor.

1. Acceptance into the Teaching Assistant Program and successful completion of assistance of at least four CranioSacral Therapy I, two CranioSacral Therapy II, and two SomatoEmotional Release I workshops.

2. Successful attendance of Advanced 2 CranioSacral Therapy

3. Agreement to the terms of this program, indicated by signed agreement

4. Recommendation of two CST Certified Instructors

5. Acceptance by CSI Ombudsman

6. Acceptance by Dr. Upledger

7. Licensure as a healthcare practitioner

8. Submittal of Curriculum Vitae or Resume and Brief Bio

9. CranioSacral Therapy Diplomate Certification
