Clinic Endorsement Program
|
For many years The Upledger Institute and its Clinic have stood as strong and authoritative voices for the cause of complementary healthcare. Through the guidance of founder John E. Upledger, DO, OMM, therapeutic innovations such as CranioSacral Therapy (CST) now rank among today’s most widely practiced and sought-after methodologies.
The Clinic Endorsement Program was created in answer to requests by Upledger-trained therapists to affiliate their clinics with the Institute in a way that would distinguish their special CST training and services. The resulting program offers these qualified clinics a full range of benefits that includes authorization to identify themselves as a facility endorsed by The Upledger Institute, Inc.®, for the practice of CranioSacral Therapy.
Program Benefits
Clinics obtaining approval for Upledger Institute endorsement receive a number of benefits and privileges:
- Permission to use the UI logo along with the tagline "An Upledger Institute, Inc.® – endorsed clinic" on UI-approved promotional materials
- Listing on The UI website as an "official UI-endorsed clinic"
- Management support through Upledger Clinic that includes the use of current procedural manuals and collateral materials
- Eligibility to act as a distributor of UI products and sponsor of UI seminars
- Priority status for your qualified staff therapists for teaching assistant positions at UI workshops
- Eligibility to serve as a UI CranioSacral Therapy Certification examination site for Techniques- and Diplomate-level testing
- A 15% discount on applicable UI products for your staff therapists
- Consideration of eligible therapists to participate as staff in select research and treatment programs sponsored by Upledger Clinic or The Upledger Foundation
- Opportunities to host and/or sponsor one- or two-week Upledger Clinic Intensive Programs (i.e., Brain and Spinal Cord Dysfunction, Learning-Disabled Children, Therapist Rejuvenation, Autism, Shared Healing, and others) if staffing and facility are essentially equivalent to Upledger Clinic
- Identification as an approved site for follow-up care for patients who have undergone Intensive Programs
- Registration as an approved precepting site for Diplomate-level certification applicants
- Designation as a UI-endorsed clinic included in International Association of Healthcare Practitioners Directory
Eligibility Requirements
Any clinic meeting the following criteria is eligible to apply for UI endorsement:
- Your clinic or its principals have been in business a minimum of two calendar years at the time of application
- A minimum of 50% of clinical service hours are devoted to the application of CranioSacral Therapy by a UI-trained CranioSacral Therapy II or higher-level alumnus
- At least one staff therapist is certified in CranioSacral Therapy at the Diplomate level, and all other therapists performing CranioSacral Therapy are in the process of becoming certified at either the Techniques or Diplomate level
- At least one staff therapist has successfully participated in a clinic preceptorship program or served as a visiting therapist in a Upledger Clinic Intensive Program
Application Process
Upon fulfillment of all eligibility requirements, qualified clinics may apply for UI endorsement through
The Upledger Clinic Endorsement Review Board. The review process will commence upon receipt of
the following:
- Completed application form
- Photocopies of all current business and staff professional licenses, as well as certificates of business and professional liability insurance
- Patient evaluation surveys testifying to the quality of services provided and respective therapy outcomes achieved
- Exterior and interior photographs or videotape of your clinic
- A minimum of two peer references for each therapist performing CranioSacral Therapy attesting to his or her character and professionalism
- A $2,500 application fee made payable to The Upledger Institute, Inc. This fee will be refunded in full should endorsement not be granted.

Renewal Policy
To ensure that the high standards of The Upledger Institute are being maintained, all officially endorsed clinics will be subject to a review and $500 renewal fee every two years. Conditions for renewal are:
- At least one therapist on the clinic’s staff is certified at the Diplomate level.
- Staff therapists who are not certified at the Diplomate or Techniques levels can show that they are working toward certification and have made verifiable progress.
- At least one staff therapist performing CranioSacral Therapy has participated in a visiting or precepting therapist rotation at the Upledger clinic since granting of the initial endorsement or last review.
Note: UI endorsement may be revoked at any point where the quality of clinical services, administrative management or professional behavior being rendered is deemed below acceptable levels. In the event of endorsement revocation, no fees will be refunded.
