Gail Wetzler received her BS in physical
therapy from Long Beach State University
in 1973. She gained her orthopedic, acute
care and administrative background at Hoag
Hospital Physical Therapy Department as
an outpatient clinical supervisor. As she
continued postgraduate studies in orthopedic
and soft tissue disorders, she initiated
her private practice in 1979. Further studies
in the osteopathic approach have led to
skills in Muscle Energy, Craniosacral Therapy,
Strain/Counterstrain, Visceral Manipulation
and Mechanical Link. Integrating traditional
therapy, Functional Orthopedics, Craniosacral
and alternative methods of health care is
the focus of her clinic today.
Gail has teaching experience with Dr.
Janet Travell - "Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction",
Gregg Johnson P.T. The Institute of Physical
Therapy Art and Dr. Terry Tanaka at USC
School of Dentistry. She has been a member
of the APTA since 1973 and has been a guest
lecturer 12 times for the APTA. The APTA
seminars she has taught consist of Head,
Neck and TMJ disorders, integrating visceral
manipulation into traditional manual therapy
and integrating physical therapy into animal
health. She is the developer of two major
postgraduate courses: "A Multidisciplinary
approach to Pelvic Pain" and "Integrative
Therapies in Animal Health".
She currently teaches eight different
levels of post-graduate continuing education
causes in manual medicine. She has been
a certified Visceral Manipulation instructor
since 1992 and certified Mechanical Link
instructor since 1998 for the Upledger Institute.
As of July 2000, Jean Pierre Barral honored
Gail with the position of Director of the
Department of Visceral Manipulation for
The Upledger Institute, Inc.
